has appointed these in the assembly:

emissaries,
Emissary
, n. [L.
emissarius, from emitto; e and mitto, to send.]
A person sent on a
mission; a missionary employed to preach and propagate the gospel.

of the enemy; an emissary may be a secret agent employed not only to detect the schemes of an opposing party, but to influence
their councils. A spy in war must be concealed, or he suffers death; an emissary may in some cases be known as the agent of
an adversary, without incurring similar hazard.

kinds
of tongues.
Tongue
TONGUE-GR`AFTING
n. A mode of grafting
by inserting the end of a cion in a particular manner.
Are all
emissaries? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with
tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly seek the better gifts. And yet I show
you a more excellent way.
And there
are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
There are
different kinds of services, but the same Master.
And there
are different kinds of workings, but it is the same Elohim who is working all in all.
for to one is given
a word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, and to another belief by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, and to another
operations of powers, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another kinds of tongues, and
to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these, distributing to each one individually as
He intends.
Now having different
gifts, according to the favour which was given to us, let us use them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion
of belief;
But earnestly seek
the better gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
Pursue love, and earnestly seek the spiritual
gifts, but rather that you prophesy.
For he who is speaking in a tongue does not speak to men
but to Elohim, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks secrets. But he who is prophesying speaks upbuilding and
encouragement and comfort to men. He who is speaking in a tongue builds up himself, but he who is prophesying builds up the
assembly. Now I wish you all spoke with tongues, but rather that you might prophesy, for he who is prophesying is greater
than he who is speaking with tongues, unless he interprets, so that the assembly might receive upbuilding. But now, brothers,
if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you, either by revelation, or by knowledge,
or by prophesying, or by teaching?Nevertheless, lifeless instruments making a sound, whether flute or harp, if they
do not make a distinction in the sound, how shall it be known what is played on the flute or on the harp? For indeed, if the trumpet makes an indistinct sound, who shall prepare himself for battle? So also you, if you do not give speech by the tongue that is clear, how shall it be known what is spoken?
For you shall be speaking into the air There are, undoubtedly, so many kinds of sounds in the world, and none of them is without
distinct sound. If then I do not know the power of the voice, I shall
be a foreigner to him who speaks, and he who speaks be a foreigner to me. So
also you, since you are ardent for spiritual gifts, seek to excel in the upbuilding of the assembly. Therefore, he who is
speaking in a tongue, let him pray that he might interpret. For if I am praying
in a tongue, my spirit is praying, but my understanding is without fruit. What
then is it? I shall pray with the spirit, and I shall also pray with the understanding. I shall sing with the spirit, and
I shall also sing with the understanding.
Otherwise,
if you bless with the spirit, how shall he who fills up the place of the unlearned say “Amĕn” at your giving
of thanks, since he does not know what you say? For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not built up I thank my Elohim
I speak with tongues more than you all,
but in an assembly
I wish to speak five words with my understanding that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. Brothers,
do not be children in your thinking, but in evil be babes, and in your thinking be perfect. In the Torah it
has been written, “With men of other tongues and other lips I shall speak to this people. And even so, they shall not
hear Me, says יהוה.” So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers, and prophesying is not for
unbelievers but for those who believe. If then all the assembly comes together
in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned or unbelievers, shall they not say that
you are mad? But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an unlearned one comes in, he is reproved by all, he is discerned by
all. And so the secrets of his heart are revealed. And so, falling down on his
face, he shall worship Elohim, declaring that Elohim is truly among you. What
then is it, brothers? Whenever you come together, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has
an interpretation. Let all be done for upbuilding. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each
in turn, and let one interpret. And if there is no interpreter, let him be silent
in an assembly, and let him speak to himself and to Elohim. And let two or three
prophets speak, and let the others discern.
And if there should be a revelation
to another who sits by, let the first be silent. For you are all able to prophesy one by one, so that all learn and all be
encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For
Elohim is not Elohim of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the set-apart ones. Let your women be silent in the assemblies, for they are not allowed to speak, but let them subject themselves,
as the Torah also says. And if they wish to learn whatever, let them ask their
own husbands at home, for it is improper for women to speak in an assembly. Or
did the word of Elohim go out from you? Or did it reach only to you?
If anyone thinks himself to be a
prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge what I write to you, that they are a command of the Master. And if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. So, then,
brothers, earnestly seek to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. Let all be done decently and in order.
one
Master, one belief, one immersion,
one Elohim and Father of all, who is
above all, and through all, and in you all. But to each one of us favour was
given according to the measure of the gift of Messiah.
That
is why it says, “When He went up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” But what does “He
went up” mean, except that He also first went down into the lower parts of the earth?
He who went down is also the One who went up far above all the heavens, to fill all. And He Himself gave some as emissaries,
and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as shepherds and teachers for the perfecting of the set-apart ones,
to the work of service to a building up of the body of the Messiah, until we all come to the unity of the belief and of the
knowledge of the Son of Elohim, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the completeness
of Messiah, so that we should no longer be children, tossed and borne about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of
men, in cleverness, unto the craftiness of leading astray, but, maintaining the truth in love, we grow up in all respects
into Him who is the head, Messiah, from whom the entire body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according
to the working by which each part does its share, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. So this
I say, and witness in the Master, that you should no longer walk as the gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having
been darkened in their understanding, having been estranged from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is in them,
because of the hardness of their heart, who, having become callous, have given themselves up to indecency, to work all uncleanness
with greediness. But you have not so learned Messiah,
if
indeed you have heard Him and were taught by Him, as truth is in יהושע: that you put off – with regard to your former way of life – the
old man, being corrupted according to the desires of the deceit, and to be renewed
in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the renewed man1 which was created according to Elohim, in righteousness
and set-apartness of the truth. Therefore, having put off the false, speak truth, each one with his neighbour, for we are
members of one another. “Be wroth, but do not sin.” Do not let the sun go down on your rage, nor give place to
the devil. Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labour, working
with his hands what is good, so that he has somewhat to share with those in need. Let no corrupt word come out of your
mouth, but only such as is good for the use of building up, so as to impart what is pleasant to the hearers. And do not grieve
the Set-apart Spirit of Elohim, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let
all bitterness, and wrath, and displeasure, and uproar, and slander be put away from you, along with all evil. And be kind towards one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as Elohim also forgave you in Messiah.
Elohim also bearing witness
both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Set-apart Spirit, distributed according to His own desire?
Blessed be יהוה, Day by day He bears our burden, The Ěl of
our deliverance! Selah. Our Ěl is the Ěl of deliverance; And
to יהוה, the Master, belong escapes from death.
