Salvation

Part 4
Laying on of hands
For this reason I remind you to stir up the gift of Elohim
which is in you through the laying on of my hands. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy
with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood.

πρεσβυτέριον
Elderhood
Neuter of a presumed derivative of G4245; the order
of elders, that is, (specifically) Israelite Sanhedrim or Messianite “ elderhood”: - (estate
of) elder (-s), .
The word χαρισμα here must refer to
the gifts and graces of the Ruach ha Kodesh, which Timothy received when set apart to the work of an evangelist by the imposition
of St. Paul’s hands,
2Ti_1:6
Pay attention to yourself and to the
teaching. Continue in them, for in doing this you shall save both yourself and those who hear you.
, and by that of the eldership; for it most evidently appears, from this verse and that above quoted, that he received this double
imposition, not probably at different times, but on one and the same occasion. These very gifts and graces might be improved;
See that the life of Yahweh remains and the work of Yahweh prospers in thine
own soul. Take heed to thy doctrine, that the matter be pure and orthodox; that thou teach nothing for truth but what Yahweh
has revealed.
And He Himself gave some as emissaries,
and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as shepherds and teachers
“Himself” by His supreme
power. “It is HE that gave,” etc.
gave some, apostles
Translate, “some to be apostles, and
some to be prophets,” etc. The men who filled the office, no less than the office itself, were a divine gift . We can
not give themselves. Compare with the list here,
1Co_12:10,
and to another operations of powers, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another
kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.
And Elohim has appointed these in the assembly: firstly emissaries, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, after that
miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, ministrations, kinds of tongues.
1Co_12:28.
As the apostles,
prophets, and evangelists were special and extraordinary Elders , so “pastors and teachers” of a particular flock, including, probably, the. Evangelists were itinerant preachers like our missionaries,
as Philip the evangelist
(Act_21:8);
And on the next day we left and came to Caesarea, and went into the house of Philip the evangelist,
who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.
as contrasted
with stationary “pastors and teachers”
(2Ti_4:5).
But you be sober in all matters,
suffer hardships, do the work of an evangelist, accomplish your service completely.
The evangelist
founded the Church; the teacher built it up in the faith already received. The “pastor” had the outward
rule and guidance of the Church:. As to revelation, the “evangelist” testified infallibly of the past;
the “prophet,” infallibly of the future. The prophet derived all from the Spirit; the evangelist, in the special
case of the Four, recorded matter of fact, cognizable to the senses, under the Spirit’s guidance. No one form of Church
polity as permanently unalterable is laid down in the New Testament though the apostolical order superintended by higher
overseers (called evangelist, after the apostolic times), has the highest sanction of primitive usage. In the case of the
Jews, a fixed model of hierarchy and ceremonial unalterably bound the people, most minutely detailed in the law. In the New
Testament, the absence of minute directions for Church government and ceremonies, shows that a fixed model was not designed;
the general rule is obligatory as to ceremonies, “Let all things be done decently and in order and that a succession
of ministers be provided, not self-called, but “called to the work by men who have public authority given unto them
in the congregation, to call and send ministers into the Yahushua ’s vineyard” That the “pastors”
here were the evangelist, of the Church, is evident from
Act_20:28;
“Therefore take heed to yourselves
and to all the flock, among which the Set-apart Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of Elohim which He
has purchased with His own blood.
1Pe_5:1,
Therefore, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also a sharer of the esteem that is to
be revealed, I appeal to the elders among you:
1Pe_5:2,
Shepherd the flock of Elohim which is among you, serving
as overseers, not by compulsion but voluntarily, not out of greed for filthy gain, but eagerly“to feed” the flock.
The term, “shepherd” or fellow elder “is used of guiding and governing and not merely instructing,
whence it is applied to kings, rather than prophets or priests
(Eze_34:23;
And I shall raise up over them one shepherd, My servant Dawiḏ, and he shall feed them. He
shall feed them and be their shepherd.
Jer_23:4).
“And I shall raise up shepherds over them, and they shall feed them. And they shall fear no more, nor be discouraged,
nor shall they be lacking,” declares יהוה. Return, O backsliding children,” declares יהוה, “for I shall rule over you, and shall take you, one from a city and two
from a clan, and shall bring you to Tsiyon. And in that day it shall be that יהוה threshes, from the channel of the River to the wadi of Mitsrayim. And you shall
be gathered one by one, O children of Yisra’ĕl. “And I shall
give you shepherds according to My heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. “And it shall be, when you have increased, and shall bear fruit in the land in those days,”
declares יהוה, “that they no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of יהוה.’ Neither would it come to heart, nor would they remember it,
nor would they visit it, nor would it be made again. “At that time Yerushalayim
shall be called the throne of יהוה, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the Name of יהוה, to Yerushalayim, and no longer walk after the stubbornness of their
evil heart.
Isa_44:28)
He is My shepherd, and he completes all My pleasure, even saying to Yerushalayim, “Let her be built,” and
to the Hĕḵal, “Let
her foundation be laid.” ’ And in those days, when the taught ones were increasing, there arose a grumbling against
the Heḇrews by
the Hellenists, because their widows were overlooked in the daily serving. So
the twelve summoned the group of the taught ones and said, “It is not pleasing for us to leave the Word of Elohim and
serve tables. “Therefore, brothers, seek out from among you seven men who
are known to be filled with the Set-apart Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint for this duty, but we shall give ourselves continually to prayer and to serving the Word.” And the word pleased
the entire group. And they chose Stephanos, a man filled with belief and the Set-apart Spirit, and Philip, and Prochoros,
and Nikanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nikolaos, a convert from Antioch, whom they set before the emissaries. And when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.
Do not lay
hands on anyone hastily, nor share in sins of others. Keep yourself clean. whom they set before the emissaries. And when they
had prayed, they laid hands on them. Then having fasted and prayed, and having laid hands on them, they sent them away.
The word for laying on is not where the importance lies, but
with which hand. The Hebrew for right hand is pini –yamin, which means the right hand or side, as the stronger and more dexterous – prosperity. You may recognize
this word as part of a name. The Hebrew language does not have a j as we do; they use a y. The word ben means son of. Therefore,
Benyamin (Benjamin) is son of my right hand, the youngest son of Yaaqob [Jacob]. The right hand is the hand used in placing
blessing and anointings on people. And, it is always the person with the ruach [spirit] of YHWH who does the imparting to
others, as in the case of patriarchs, priests or prophets
By laying his
hands on those that were sick, yahweh’shua imparted, transferred, superimposed,
had rest upon - his life, which is the life of his Father, YHWH, thereby healing
them.
And when
the sun was setting, all who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him. And He laid His hands on each
one of them and healed them. And He was unable to do any miracle there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick ones and
healed them. And He marvelled because of their unbelief. And He was going around among the villages, teaching. And stretching
out His hand יהושע touched him, saying, “I desire it. Be cleansed!” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And
He touched her hand, and the inflammation left her. And she arose and served them.
Afterwards Yahew’shua
anointed his thalmiydiym [students, disciples] to follow him, the had an imparting
from him and a commission to do this in his name
And He said
to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature. “He who has believed and has been
immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned. “And
these signs shall accompany the ones who believe: In My Name they shall cast out demons, they shall speak with renewed tongues,
they shall take up snakes, and if they drink any deadly drink it shall by no means hurt them, they shall lay hands
on the sick and they shall get well.” And having called His twelve taught ones together, He gave them power and authority
over all demons, and to heal diseases. And He sent them to proclaim the reign of Elohim and to heal the sick.
And after this
the Master appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of Him into every city and place where He Himself was
about to go. Then He said to them, “The harvest indeed is great, but the workers are few, therefore pray the Master
of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. “Go! See, I send you
out as lambs into the midst of wolves. “Do not take a purse, nor a bag, nor sandals. And greet no one along the way.
“And whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ “And if indeed a son of peace is
there, your peace shall rest on it; and if not, it shall return to you. “And
stay in the same house, eating and drinking whatever with them, for the labourer is worthy of his wages. Do not move from
house to house. “And into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat whatever is placed before you, and heal
the sick there, and say to them, ‘The reign of Elohim has come near to you.’ “And
into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, ‘Even
the dust of your city which clings to us, we wipe off against you, but know this, that the reign of Elohim has come near to
you.’ “And I say to you that it shall be more bearable for Seḏom in that Day, than
for that city. “Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bĕyth Tsaiḏa! For if the miracles
which were done in you had been done in Tsor and Tsiḏon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. “But it shall be more bearable for Tsor and Tsiḏon at the judgment than for you. “And
you, Kephar Naḥum, who
are exalted to the heaven, shall be brought down to the grave. “He who
hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” And the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Master, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name.
And He said to them, “I saw Satan falling out of the heaven as lightning. “See,
I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and none at all shall
hurt you. “But do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to
you, but rather rejoice because your names have been written in the heavens.” In
that hour יהושע exulted in the Spirit and said, “I praise You, Father, Master
of the heaven and of the earth, that You have hidden these matters from clever and learned ones, and did reveal them
to babes. Yea, Father, because thus it was well-pleasing in Your sight. “All
has been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the
Son, and he to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him.” And turning to
His taught ones He said, separately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see, for
I say to you that many prophets and sovereigns have wished to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you
hear, and have not heard it.”
and has seen
in a vision a man named Ḥananyah coming in and laying his hand on him, so as to see again.” And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother
Sha’ul, the Master יהושע, who appeared to you
on the way as you came, has sent me, so that you might see again and be filled with the Set-apart Spirit.” For this
reason I remind you to stir up the gift of Elohim which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For Elohim has not given
us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of self-control. So do not be ashamed of the witness of our Master,
nor of me His prisoner, but suffer hardship with me for the Good News according to the power of Elohim,
Then they laid
hands on them, and they received the Set-apart Spirit. And Shimʽon, seeing that through the laying on
of the hands of the emissaries the Set-apart Spirit was given Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you
by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood. For this reason I remind you to stir up the gift of Elohim which
is in you through the laying on of my hands. Trustworthy is the word, and worthy of all acceptance. It is for this that we labour and struggle, because we trust in the living Elohim, who is the Saviour of
all men, particularly of those who believe. Command and teach these matters.
Let no one look down on your youth, but be an example to the believers in word,
in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in belief, in cleanliness. Until I come, give
attention to reading of Scripture, to encouragement, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was
given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elderhood. Practise
these matters, be in them, so that your progress might be plain to all. Pay
attention to yourself and to the teaching. Continue in them, for in doing this you shall save both yourself and those who
hear you.
In
Luke 6:28,
Bless those cursing you, and pray for those insulting you.
Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you –
bless and do not curse.
Yaaqob [James]
3,
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, knowing
that we shall receive greater judgment. For we all stumble in many matters. If anyone does not stumble in word, he
is a perfect man, able also to bridle the entire body. Look, we put bits in the
mouths of horses, for them to obey us, and we turn their body. Look at the ships too: although they are so big and are driven
by strong winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot intends. So too the tongue is a little member,
yet boasts greatly. See how a little fire kindles a great forest! And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness.
Among our members the tongue is set, the one defiling the entire body, and setting on fire the wheel of life, and it is set
on fire by Gehenna. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.
But no man is able to tame the tongue. It is unruly, evil, filled with deadly
poison. With it we bless our Elohim and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of Elohim. Out
of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be so. Does the fountain send forth the sweet
and the bitter from the same opening? My brothers, is a fig tree able to bear
olives, or a grapevine figs? So neither is a fountain able to make salt and sweet water. Who is wise and understanding
among you? Let him show by his good behaviour his works in meekness of wisdom. But
if you have bitter jealousy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast against and lie against the truth. This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but it is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and self-seeking are, there is confusion and every foul deed. But the wisdom from above
is first clean, then peaceable, gentle, ready to obey, filled with compassion and good fruits, without partiality and without
hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. and peace from
Elohim our Father and the Master יהושע Messiah
We praise and curse with the same mouth, should we not bless
those who curse us, we has parents should bless our offspring, has teachers those we serve building up them in the name of
Yahweh’shua
Matthew 19:13-15
Then young children were brought to Him to lay His hands on them and pray, and the taught
ones rebuked them. But יהושע said, “Allow the young children and do not stop them from coming to Me, for of such is the
reign of the heavens.”And having laid hands on them He went from there.
Mark 10:13-16
And they were bringing little children for Him to touch them, but the taught ones were rebuking those who were bringing
them. And when יהושע saw it, He was much displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and
do not forbid them, for of such is the reign of Elohim “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the reign of Elohim
as a little child, shall certainly not enter into it.” And taking them
up in His arms, laying His hands on them, He blessed them.
With
this responsibility comes a warning
But he who did not know, yet did what deserved flogging, shall be beaten with few. And everyone to whom much is given,
from him much shall be demanded. And to whom much has been entrusted, from him much more shall be asked. Do not lay hands
on anyone hastily, nor share in sins of others. Keep yourself clean.
The thalmiydiym are givern authority to heal in the name of Yahweh’shua, they had been trained for 3 years “No longer do I call you servants,
for a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, for all teachings which I heard
from My Father I have made known to you. Everything they had learned was now near completion ,everything from the father,
had Yahweh’shua maded known Trustworthy is the word: If a man longs for the position of an overseer,
he desires a good work. An overseer, then, should be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, sensible, orderly, kind to
strangers, able to teach, not given to wine, no brawler, but gentle, not quarrelsome, no lover of money, one who rules his own house well, having his children in subjection with all reverence, for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how shall he look after the assembly of Elohim? Not a new convert, lest he become puffed up with pride and fall into the judgment of
the devil. And he should even have a good witness from those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of
the devil. Likewise attendants are to be reverent, not double-tongued, not given
to much wine, not greedy for filthy gain, holding to the secret of the belief
with a clean conscience. And let these also be proved first, then let them serve,
if they are unreprovable. Wives in the same way: reverent, not false accusers,
sober, trustworthy in every way. Let attendants be the husbands of only one wife, ruling children and their own houses
well. For those who have served well as attendants gain good standing for themselves, and much boldness in the belief that
is in Messiah יהושע. I am writing you this, expecting to come to you shortly, but
if I delay, that you might know how you should behave in the House of Elohim, which is the assembly of the living Elohim –
a strong support and foundation of the truth. And, beyond all question,
the secret of reverence is great – who was revealed in the flesh, declared right in Spirit, was seen by messengers,
was proclaimed among nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in esteem.
