βάπτισμα

baptisma

Thayer Definition:

 immersion, submersion

of calamities and afflictions with which one is quite overwhelmed

of John’s baptism, that purification rite by which men on confessing their sins were bound to spiritual reformation, obtained the pardon of their past sins and became qualified for the benefits of the Messiah’s kingdom soon to be set up. This was valid Yahwehism baptism, as this was the only baptism the apostles received and it is not recorded anywhere that they were ever rebaptised after Pentecost. of Yahweh  baptism; a rite of immersion in water ascommanded by Yahuhsua, by which one after confessing his sins and professing his faith in Yahweh, having been born again by the Ruach Ha Kodesh unto a new life, identifies publicly with the fellowship of Yahuhsua  and the assembly of set apart ones

βάπτω

baptō

bap'-to

A primary verb; to whelm, that is, cover wholly with a fluid; in the New Testament only in a qualified or specific sense, that is, (literally) to moisten (a part of one’s person), or (by implication) to stain (as with dye): - dip.  - baptism, washing. to make whelmed (that is, fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Yahwehist  baptism: - baptist, baptize, wash.

Mat 3:6

and they were immersed by him in the Yardĕn, confessing their sins.

It was a solemn rite of washing, significant of cleansing from their former sins, and purifying you  for the special service of Yahweh.

Mat 3:11

“I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance,

but He who is coming after me is mightier than I,

whose sandals I am not worthy to bear.

He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.

By who,s authority do we immerse/ baptize someone

Mar 11:27

And they came again to Yerushalayim. And as He was walking in the Set-apart Place, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to Him,  and they said to Him, “By what authority are You doing these? And who gave You this authority to do these?” And יהושע answering, said to them, “I shall ask you one question, and answer Me, and I shall say to you by what authority I do these: “The immersion of Yoḥanan – was it from heaven or from men? Answer Me.” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He shall say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ “But if we say, ‘From men’ ” – they feared the people, for all held that Yoḥanan was a prophet indeed. And answering they said to יהושע, “We do not know.” And יהושע answering, said to them, “Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these.”

      Luk 10:21

In that hour יהושע exulted in the Spirit and said, “I praise You, Father, Master of the heaven and of the earth, that You have hidden these matters from clever and learned ones, and did reveal them to babes. Yea, Father, because thus it was well-pleasing in Your sight.  “All has been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him.”

And of baptism we read

       Isa 29:18

And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of gloom, and out of darkness. And the meek ones shall increase their joy in יהוה, and the poor among men rejoice in the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl.  “And I shall lead the blind by a way they have not known – in paths they have not known I lead them. I make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These matters I shall do for them, and I shall not forsake them.

  Jer 32:39

‘And I shall give them one heart and one way, to fear Me all the days, for the good of them and of their children after them.  ‘And I shall make an everlasting covenant with them, that I do not turn back from doing good to them. And I shall put My fear in their hearts so as not to turn aside from Me.  ‘And I shall rejoice over them to do good to them, and shall plant them in this land in truth, with all My heart and with all My being.’

       Isa 41:10

‘Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not look around, for I am your Elohim. I shall strengthen you, I shall also help you, I shall also uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.’  “See, all those who raged against you are ashamed and blush, they are as non-existent. And the men who strive with you perish.  “You seek them but do not find them, those who struggle with you. Those who fight you are as non-existent, as naught.  “For I, יהוה your Elohim, am holding your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear, I shall help you.’ having been buried with Him in immersion, in which you also were raised with Him through the belief in the working of Elohim, who raised Him from the dead. therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life. believe in the One who is coming after him, that is, in Messiah יהושע.”

Can one be baptized twice , in this day we often hear of baptism in Jesus Christ, and on learning the truth we have a commitment to being baptised in his true name of Yahweh-shua

Act 19:3

This one had been instructed in the way of the Master. And being fervent in spirit, he was speaking and teaching the matters about the Master exactly, though he knew only the immersion of Yoḥanan. And he said to them, “Into what then were you immersed?” And they said, “Into Yoḥanan’s immersion.”And Sha’ul said, “Yoḥanan indeed immersed with an immersion of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the One who is coming after him, that is, in Messiah יהושע.”  And when they heard this, they were immersed in the Name of the Master יהושע.

Baptism

BAP'TISM, n. [Gr. to baptize.]

       Act 2:38

And Kĕpha said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of יהושע Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit. And with many other words he earnestly witnessed and urged them, saying, “Be saved from this crooked generation. “Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master, “To you first, Elohim, having raised up His Servant יהושע, sent Him to bless you, in turning away each one of you from your wicked ways. For neither Yisra’ĕl nor Yehuḏah is widowed by his Elohim, יהוה of hosts, though their land has been filled with sin against the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl.” For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah יהושע, And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues “Because her sins have piled up to reach the heaven, and Elohim has remembered her unrighteousnesses. Flee from the midst of Baḇel, and let each one save his life! Do not be cut off in her crookedness, for this is the time of the vengeance of יהוה, the recompense He is repaying her.

Baptism signifies –

1. A confession of faith in  Yahushua;

2. A cleansing or washing of the soul from sin;

3. A death to sin and a new life in righteousness.

Rom 6:4

We were therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, having been buried with Him in immersion, in which you also were raised with Him through the belief in the working of Elohim, who raised Him from the dead. so also we should walk in newness of life.

The mode and subjects of baptism being much-controverted subjects, each one can best study them in the works devoted to those questions. The command to baptize was co-extensive with the command to preach the gospel. All nations were to be evangelized; and they were to be made disciples, admitted into the fellowship of  Yahushua's religion, by baptism.

“ Faith” and “baptism” (seal of faith) are connected He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned. having been buried with Him in immersion, in which you also were raised with Him through the belief in the working of Elohim, who raised Him from the dead.

“Faith” is not here that which we believe, but the act of believing, the mean by which we apprehend the “one Elohim.” “Baptism” is specified, being the sacrament whereby we are incorporated into the “one body.” and to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for profiting,  for to one is given a word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,  and to another belief by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, and to another operations of powers, and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another kinds of tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these, distributing to each one individually as He intends. For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is the Messiah. For indeed by one Spirit we were all immersed into one body, whether Yehuḏim or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink into one Spirit.  For indeed the body is not one member but many.  If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” does it therefore not belong to the body? And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” does it therefore not belong to the body? If all the body was an eye, where would be the hearing? If all hearing, where would be the smelling? But now Elohim has set the members, each one of them, in the body, even as He pleased. And if they all had been one member, where would the body be?  And now, there are indeed many members, but one body.

  Mat 28:19

“Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,

The word is in the singular, the "name," not names. Father, Son, and Ruach ha Kodesh is the final name of the one true Yahweh. It affirms:

That Yahweh is one.

Mar 16:15

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature. “He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned. and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim. But you shall receive power when the Set-apart Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Yerushalayim, and in all Yehuḏah and Shomeron, and to the end of the earth.” beginning from the immersion of Yoḥanan to that day when He was taken up from us, that one of these should become a witness with us of His resurrection.” “And you are witnesses of these matters.

Become  Taught one one must first be a disciple

Act 11:26 and having found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came to be that for an entire year they came together in the assembly and taught large numbers. And the taught ones were called ‘Messianites’ first in Antioch

But יהושע answering, said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and to be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?” They said to Him, “We are able.” Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of יהושע Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. Look, water! What hinders me from being immersed?” And he commanded them to be immersed in the Name of יהושע Messiah. Or do you not know that as many of us as were immersed into Messiah יהושע were immersed into His death?

And immediately there fell from his eyes, as it were scales, and he received his sight. And rising up, he was immersed.  And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit.  And He said to them, “You shall indeed drink My cup, and you shall be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with.1 But to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” “He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned. Then those, indeed, who gladly received his word, were immersed. For as many of you as were immersed into Messiah have put on Messiah.

Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,  teaching them to guard all that I have commanded you. And see, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Amĕn.
