Salvation Part 2 Faith and Belief

Salvation

 In six parts

 Part 2

 Faith =  Belief

Of the teachings of faith

Faith is belief in seen and unseen, a hold to a promise where proof is neither asked or looked for but you have a trust in Yahweh-shua

Faith (belief)

Dictonary

 : allegiance to duty or a person  : fidelity to one's promises : sincerity of intentions
 : belief and trust in and loyalty to Yahweh: belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion : firm belief in something for which there is no proof  : complete trust : something that is believed especially with strong conviction;  especially   : a system of religious beliefs
: without doubt or question

Rev 14:12

 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones,here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of יהושע.

Yahweh-shua talking about the end of the Age (our time now) told us of the remant of his seed, will be those guarding (believing)

  And the dragon was enraged with the woman(set apart ones), and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness of יהושע Messiah.

Which points to the question of yahuhsua

I say to you that He shall do right to them speedily. But when the Son of Aḏam comes, shall He find the belief on the earth?”

Rom 11:5

       So therefore also, at this present time a remnant according to the choice of favour has come to be.   For whatsoever is born of Yahweh overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy because everyone having been born of Elohim overcomes the world. And this is the overcoming that has overcome the world: our belief.  Who is the one who overcomes the world but he who believes that יהושע is the Son of Elohim?

G4100

πιστεύω

pisteuō

 to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in of the thing believe to credit, have confidence in a moral or religious reference used in the NT of the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of soul to trust in Yahuhsua  or Yahweh  as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: saving faith to entrust a thing to one, i.e. his fidelity to be intrusted with a thing

Strongs

G4100

πιστεύω

pisteuō

pist-yoo'-o

From G4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being to Yahweh-shua): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.

Faith

Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true

(Phi_1:27; 2Th_2:13). 1Eph. 1:4.

   behave yourselves worthily of the Good News of Messiah, in order that you stand fast inone spirit, with one being, striving together for the belief of the Good News, give thanks  to Elohim always  because Elohim from the beginning chose you to be saved – in set- apartness of Spirit, and belief in the truth  even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be set-apart and blameless before Him in love

 2Th_2:13).

  Its primary idea is trust. A thing is true, and therefore worthy of trust. It admits of degrees up to full assurance of faith, in accordance with the evidence on which it rests.

Faith is the result of teaching

(Rom_10:14-17).

       How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without one proclaiming?  And how shall they proclaim if they are not sent? As it has been written, “How pleasant are the feet of those who bring the Good News of peace, who bring the Good News of the good!”  However, not all obeyed the Good News. For Yeshayahu says, “יהוה, who has believed our report?” So then belief comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Elohim.

  Knowledge is an essential element in all faith, and is

 sometimes spoken of as an

 equivalent to faith

  (Joh_10:38;

     “If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;  but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

       1Jo_2:3).

 And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. Everyone staying in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Himhe one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

    Yet the two are distinguished in this respect, that faith includes in it assent, which is an act of the will in addition to the act of the understanding Assent to the truth is of the essence of faith, and the ultimate ground on which our assent to any revealed truth rests is the veracity ofYahweh.Historical faith is the apprehension of and assent to certain statements which are regarded as mere facts of history.Temporary faith is that state of mind which is awakened in men by the exhibition of the truth and by the influence of religious sympathy, or by what is sometimes styled the common operation of the  Ruach ha Kodesh.Saving faith is so called because it has eternal life inseparably connected with it.: “Faith in Yahuhsua Ha Mashiach is a saving grace, whereby we receive and rest upon him alone for salvation, as he is offered to us in the gospel.”The object of saving faith is the whole revealed Word of Yahweh. Faith accepts and believes it as the very truth most sure. But the special act of faith which unites to Yahushua has as its object the person and the work of the Mashiach

 (Joh_7:38;

     As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.‘For I pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring, For My people have done two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew out for themselves cisterns, cracked cisterns, which do not hold water. O יהוה, the expectation of Yisra’ĕl, all who forsake You are put to shame. “Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken יהוה, the fountain of living waters And in that day it shall be that living waters flow from Yerushalayim, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea, in summer as well as in winter, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. The fear of יהוה is a fountain of life, יהושע answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me to drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water. And on the last day, the great day of the festival, יהושע stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink.  “As the Scripture said, out of His innermost shall flow rivers of living water.” Footnote: And this He said concerning the Spirit, which those believing in Him were about to receive, for the Set-apart Spirit was not yet given,1 because יהושע was not yet esteemed“It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh does not profit at all. The words that I speak to you are Spirit and are life. And so it has been written, “The first man Aḏam became a living being,” the last Aḏam  a life-giving Spirit. because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shall shepherd them and lead them to fountains of waters of life. And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes. And He said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I shall give of the fountain of the water of life without payment. And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of Elohim and of the Lamb. And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And he who hears, let him say, “Come!” And he who thirsts, come! And he who desires it, take the water of life without paying!

Act_16:31).

And they said, “Believe on the Master יהושע Messiah, and you shall be saved

 This is the specific act of faith by which a sinner is justified before Yahweh

 (Rom_3:22,

      and the righteousness of Elohim is through belief in יהושע Messiah to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference, whom Elohim set forth as an atonement, through belief in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His tolerance Elohim had passed over the sins that had taken place before,knowing that a man is not declared right by works of Torah, but through belief in יהושע Messiah, even we have believed in Messiah יהושע, in order to be declared right by belief in Messiah and not by works of Torah, because by works of Torah no flesh shall be declared right. and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through belief in Messiah, the righteousness which is from Elohim on the basis of belief, For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life. “For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not judged, but he who does not believe is judged already, because he has not believed in the Name of the only brought-forth Son of Elohim. “And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked.  “For everyone who is practising evil matters hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.  “But the one doing the truth comes to the light, so that his works are clearly seen, that they have been wrought in Elohim.”  After this, יהושע and His taught ones came into the land of Yehuḏah, and He remained there with them, and was immersing. And Yoḥanan was also immersing in Ayin near Salim, because there was plenty of water there. And they were coming and were being immersed,  for Yoḥanan had not yet been put into prison.  Then a dispute arose between some of Yoḥanan’s taught ones and the Yehuḏim about cleansing,  and they came to Yoḥanan and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Yardĕn, to whom you have witnessed, see, He is immersing, and all are coming to Him!”  Yoḥanan answered and said, “No man is able to receive any matter unless it is given to him from the heaven.  “You yourselves are witnesses for me that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but I am sent ahead of Him.’  “He that has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the voice of the bridegroom. So this joy of mine is complete.  “It is right for Him to increase, but me to decrease.  “He who comes from above is over all, he who is from the earth is of the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from the heaven is over all.  “And what He has seen and heard, that He witnesses. And no one receives His witness. “He who receives His witness has set his seal that Elohim is true. “For He whom Elohim has sent speaks the Words of Elohim, for Elohim does not give the Spirit by measure.  “The Father loves the Son, and has given all into His hand.  “He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.” “To this One all the prophets bear witness, that through His Name, everyone believing in Him does receive forgiveness of sins.” And they said, “Believe on the Master יהושע Messiah, and you shall be saved,

 In this act of faith the believer appropriates and rests on Yahweh-shua alone as Mediator in all his offices.This assent to or belief in the truth received upon the divine testimony has always associated with it a deep sense of sin, a distinct view of  Yahushua, a consenting will, and a loving heart, together with a reliance on, a trusting in, or resting in Yahushua. It is that state of mind in which a poor sinner, conscious of his sin, flees from his guilty self to Yahushua his Saviour, and rolls over the burden of all his sins on him. It consists chiefly, not in the assent given to the testimony of Yahweh in his Word, but in embracing with fiducial reliance and trust the one and only Saviour whom Yahweh reveals. This trust and reliance is of the essence of faith. By faith the believer directly and immediately appropriates Yahuhsua as his own. Faith in its direct act makes Yahuhsua ours. It is not a work which Yahweh graciously accepts instead of perfect obedience, but is only the hand by which we take hold of the person and work of our Redeemer as the only ground of our salvation.

Saving faith is a moral act, as it proceeds from a renewed will, and a renewed will is necessary to believing assent to the truth of Yahweh

(1Co_2:14;

        But the natural man does not receive the matters of the Spirit of Elohim, for they are foolishness to him, and he is unable to know them, because they are spiritually discerned. For I am not conscious of any matter against myself, yet I am not declared right by this, but He who judges me is יהוה.

      Faith, therefore, has its seat in the moral part of our nature fully as much as in the  intellectual. The mind must first be enlightened by divine teaching

         No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him. And I shall raise him up in the last day. And when the gentiles heard this, they were glad and praised the Word of יהוה. And as many as had been appointed to everlasting life believed. For Elohim, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts for the enlightening of the knowledge of the esteem of Elohim in the face of יהושע Messiah. that the Elohim of our Master יהושע Messiah, the Father of esteem, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, so that you know what is the expectation of His calling, and what are the riches of the esteem of His inheritance in the set-apart ones, And He said to them, “O thoughtless ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

before it can discern the things of the Spirit.

Faith is necessary to our salvation

 (Mar_16:16),

    “He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved but he who has not believed shall be condemned.

        not because there is any merit in it, but simply because it is the sinner's taking the place assigned him by Yahweh, his falling in with what Yahweh is doing.The warrant or ground of faith is the divine testimony, not the reasonableness of what Yahweh says, but the simple fact that he says it. Faith rests immediately on, “Thus saith the Lord.” But in order to this faith the veracity, sincerity, and truth of Yahweh must be owned and appreciated, together with his unchangeableness. Yahweh's word encourages and emboldens the sinner personally to transact with Yahushua as Yahweh's gift, to close with him, embrace him, give himself to Yahushua, and take Yahushua as his. That word comes with power, for it is the word of Yahweh who has revealed himself in his works, and especially in the cross. Yahweh is to be believed for his word's sake, but also for his name's sake.Faith in Yahushua secures for the believer freedom from condemnation, or justification    before Yahweh; a participation in the life that is in Yahuhsua, the divine life

 (Joh_14:19;

      “Yet a little while, and the world no longer sees Me, but you shall see Me, because I live, and you shall live. We were therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.  For if we have come to be grown together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also of the resurrection,  knowing this, that our old man was impaled with Him, so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, to serve sin no longer.  For he who has died has been made right from sin.  And if we died with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Messiah, having been raised from the dead, dies no more – death no longer rules over Him.  For in that He died, He died to sin once for all; but in that He lives, He lives to Elohim. but, maintaining the truth in love, we grow up in all respects into Him who is the head, Messiah, from whom the entire body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the working by which each part does its share, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

      “Peace with Yahweh”

       Therefore, having been declared right by belief, we have peace with Elohim through our

       Master יהושע Messiah,

       and sanctification

       to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and the authority of Satan to Elohim, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are set-apart by belief in Me.’ “I, יהוה, have called You in righteousness, and I take hold of Your hand and guard You, and give You for a covenant to a people, for a light to the gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. “For look, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples. But יהוה arises over you, and His esteem is seen upon you.  “And the gentiles shall come to your light, and sovereigns to the brightness of your rising. No longer is the sun your light by day, nor does the moon give light to you for brightness, but יהוה shall be to you an everlasting light, and your Elohim your comeliness.  “No longer does your sun go down, nor your moon withdraw itself, for יהוה shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, for the esteem of Elohim lightened it, and the Lamb is its lamp. And the gentiles, of those who are saved, shall walk in its light, and the sovereigns of the earth bring their esteem into it. For in Messiah יהושע neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but belief working through love. and made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by belief.

All who thus believe in Yahuhsua will certainly be saved

       “All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I shall by no means cast out. “And this is the desire of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him should possess everlasting life. And I shall raise him up in the last day.” “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me They are those who were not defiled with women, for they are maidens. They are those following the Lamb wherever He leads them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to the Lamb.  And in their mouth was found no falsehood, for they are blameless before the throne of Elohim. And I give them everlasting life, and they shall by no means ever perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.  For the Torah of the Spirit of the life in Messiah יהושע has set me free from the law of sin and of death.

        The faith = the gospel

        And the Word of Elohim spread, and the number of the taught ones increased greatly in Yerushalayim, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the belief. hrough whom we have received favour and office of the emissary for belief-obedience among all the nations on behalf of His Name, but they were hearing only that, “The one who once persecuted us now brings as Good News the belief which he once ravaged.” holding to the secret of the belief with a clean conscience. Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones.
